In a legal state, buying cannabis is a lot like walking into any modern retail shop — just with an ID check at the door:

• 21+ for recreational use; medical patients can often be younger with a card. Bring a government photo ID — a passport works for visitors.
• Cash or debit. Because of banking rules, many dispensaries prefer cash or debit and have an ATM on site.

Which states are legal?

• Never drive under the influence. This is taken very seriously everywhere.
